R & B Tobacco (my local cigar shop) recommended this smoke to me. These are made from a blend of straight ligero tobacco. The first few minutes of puffing this cigar, it starts out fairly smooth taking a bit for the spice to really kick up. The cocoa flavor mellows some of the spiciness. These cigars burn forever, probably one of the slowest burning cigars I’ve had in a while. I am surprised that I enjoyed this as much as I did given the strength! I guess I shouldn’t be though given the fact it was blended by Sam Leccia of the Nub cigar (my beloved Nub). I prefer a medium strength cigar but this was not as harsh as some other full strength cigars I’ve had. Overall a great value...
Ligero tobacco is leaf tobacco, taken from the top of the tobacco plant. These leaves have had the most exposure to the sun during growth, and as a result are the richest in the various aromatics and oils that tobacco produces from different regions of Nicaragua.
Slainte!
