For the Love Of...

After a long day of work I love to kick back, open a bottle, and listen to some tunes. On a warm summer day you need a cool wine…Well I found one that is inexpensive and easily accessible at any retailer, FLO 2010 Chardonnay. Chardonnay originated in the Burgundy wine region of eastern France but is now grown just about wherever wine is produced. The Chardonnay grape itself is very neutral, with many of the flavors commonly associated with the grape being derived from such influences as terroir and oak. It is vinified in many different styles, from the lean, crisp mineral wines of Chablis, France to “New World” wines with oak and tropical fruit flavors.

Oh yea, back to the FLO Chardonnay (For the Love Of)…from Marcus Johnson, a Jazz musician, whom decided to get into the wine business due to his love of wine and music – a guy I could relate to! This medium-bodied wine had aromas of lemon zest and green apples followed by flavors of citrus, green apple, and a hint of pear to soften it up. Easy-drinking, balanced fairly well with some nice acidity; it is shocking this only retails for $10 at Jewel. I’ve had some fairly expensive Chardonnays so it was a nice surprise that this drank as well as it did. I paired Marcus’s wine with his music which proved to be a solid evening. For the Love of…? Life! Sláinte! TCW
